Her first time. But the boys were almost as gleeful when they each found their first as she was. More so even, since they had the excitement and memory of discovery happening. But when you are one year old a person could pull a rabbit from you hat and you'd nod, yes, why I wondered if that might have been in there. So it's a subtle wonderment. Like the wind blowing a shower of yellow leaves all over you, and looking up in amazement you smile. The conkers growing in steady numbers in your tiny basket, that too is a lovely thing. Is there any other shade of brown as beautifully rich in hue and warmth as the horse chestnut?

I had no idea what a conker was! Thank you for expanding my vocabulary :) It looks beautiful and autumnal your way.
Oh, I forgot to say that I made your 10 minute pixie hat and posted about it on my blog www.ingridliddle.blogspot.com
it's so cute!
Gorgeous photos! We found a few conkers on the way to school last week, the kids have proudly displayed them on the 'nature shelf'!
lovely baskets!
I always think of you lot when the leaves start to fall and there are pine cones begging to be gathered
Amber liddle - you hats are lovely!
Emma - both baskets were charity shop finds, 30p and 50p. I can't bear to buy baskets as there are always so many in charity shops! We have far too many here..... but theya re the sort of thing which get used, we always seem to be short, despite the house bulging with them, and I still look out for more!
Lovely pics, and you've inspired me to take the witchling out conkering tomorrow. What a nice way to spend Sunday afternoon!
now that is fall!
what a pretty fall Beauty!
We roasted chesnuts today at my mother's house. Can you eat conkers? Or just collect them and admire their beauty?
Oh now I've got conker envy!!! We've only had two from the tree in our garden.
What an amazing array of conkers, such a simple pleasure that delights all ages. And I love those baskets, especially the Beauty sized one!
